I've seen The Play That Goes Wrong on stage at the Duchess Theatre three times! The first two were on 8 February and 12 April 2026; the third, with a fresh cast, was on 11 October 2026.
Here are my 8 February notes and my 12 April notes! Both showings were with the 2025/2026 cast (pictured above), although the 12 April show had understudies for Robert and Dennis.
The cast I'd seen departed at the end of May 2026! It's exciting to welcome a new cast, but it's also a little sad to know I'll never see that version again. I've noted down some thoughts about the changeover.
And then I went to see the new cast and still had a great time, of course. Here are my notes from the 11 October 2026 matinée! I saw the show from the front row on this occasion, so I was able to pick up on some finer details.
I've also written a short work of fanfiction set immediately after The Play That Goes Wrong, about Annie's awkward early days as an actress with the drama society: Cast and Crew (1,800 words).
